While the scope of Bickerdike's work goes well beyond bricks and mortar, we are most widely known for the development and preservation of quality, affordable housing. Since 1967, Bickerdike has had great success in building and rehabbing quality affordable housing units for low and moderate-income individuals and families.

To date, we have produced 1,063 units across 223 sites:

• 145 are owner-occupied single-family homes and two to four flat units for owner occupancy;
• 749 are rental and co-op units, including rehabbed multi-family buildings and new construction townhouses; and
• 169 are cooperative housing units.

Bickerdike continues to pursue new development initiatives with a mix of rental units and homeownership opportunities to meet the diverse housing needs in our community. In the coming years, Bickerdike will:

• Continue to develop rental housing;
• Complete development projects currently underway;
• Explore more development of cooperatives as a means of affordable homeownership;
• Continue to work in partnership with local residents and community organizations in conjunction with our development initiatives.
