A vote for affordable housing in Logan Square
On Tuesday, September 30, Bickerdike staff, residents and members came together as a strong vote for affordable housing in Logan Square!
We joined over 200 other Logan Square community members and stakeholders for the final meeting of the three-part Corridor Development Initiative series hosted by the Metropolitan Planning Council and Ald. Rey Colón.
The meeting’s agenda consisted of a review of the mock developments plans of the Logan Square Blue Line station plaza and the adjacent parking lot, that were proposed by participants of the first two meetings in the series.
Attendees were asked questions relating to the mock plans and also their desires for future community development. They were were also able to ask questions to a panel of experts in market rate housing, affordable housing and retail development.
With diverse proposals on the table, when the crowd was asked about the top priority for the site, the majority of participants responded affordable housing.
Whether you were in attendance or not, please help us continue to advocate for affordable housing by completing the Metropolitan Planning Council’s survey. Just click here to participate and be sure to share with your friends and neighbors.
