Running in the rain to support the inaugural Humboldt Park 5k
Ten Bickerdike staff and family, most of whom aren’t runners, woke up early on a rainy Saturday to support the inaugural Humboldt Park 5k. They made up just a fraction of a total of 478 other runners and walkers.
The event was such a success that registration for the 2016 race is already open.
Bickerdike participants were recognized at the September 2015 staff meeting.
In addition to the runners, Bickerdike showed its support by being part of the resource fair, joining other organizations in promoting health-related programs and services.
Participating in events such as the 5k is part of a commitment to creating Healthy Neighborhoods by advocating for healthy eating and active lifestyles, with efforts that begin with its own staff.
