LOGAN SQUARE — Two low-cost housing projects that have been years in the making are a step closer to reality.
The Metropolitan L Apartments at 2525 N. Kedzie Blvd., where City Lit sits, and the second phase of Encuentro Square, 3745 W. Cortland St. at the Western terminus of the Bloomingdale Trail, are two of 15 affordable housing projects selected to receive city investment along with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. The federal program provides tax credits to developers for 30 years in exchange for investments in low-income rental properties.
