Victory Apartments Preservation is a Project-Based Section 8 development with 107 affordable apartments in nine vintage, multi-family buildings in the Humboldt Park and West Town communities. Bickerdike completed the rehabilitation of the buildings in 1990, a project culminating in an intensive organizing campaign to push the State of Illinois to fund its first affordable housing development in our community. The victory of that campaign inspired the project name.
Tenant based or portable vouchers are not accepted or needed at this project-based Section 8 property. The rent tenants pay is calculated as a portion of their income.
